Chimcomplex Vicepresident

Specialist with a vast experience of 55 years in the technology and management of the chemical and petrochemical industry in Romania.

Mr. Băncilă was the Technical Director – Production of the Petrochemical Plant Borzești (CAROM&RAFO&CHIMCOMPLEX) for 10 years (1980-1989), General Manager of Chimcomplex for 20 years (1990-2009), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chimcomplex for 9 years (2009-2018) and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Chimcomplex from 2018 until now.

He was executive chairman of the SCR Group for 7 years (2011-2017) and chairman of the boards of directors of other companies in scr. He coordinated the research and development and investment activity at the major objectives of the Borzești Petrochemical Plant and Chimcomplex: Soda II, CIAN-Herbicide Group, Soda III, Thiocarbamic Fungicides and Membrane Electrolysis (Soda M), etc. He is the author of 27 patents of inventions for installations and chemical technologies (Isopropyl alcohol, PVC – Suspension, Natural gas acetylene, hydrogenation catalysts, etc.), most of them applied in Chimcomplex.

In 2001 he obtained a PhD degree in Chemistry at the Gheorghe Asachi Polytechnic Institute in Iasi. He graduated from several management courses in the country and abroad that allowed him to lead and restructure the activity of Chimcomplex.

The remarkable projects in which he participated are Soda M, the cogeneration installations and the preparation of the acquisition of the operational assets from Oltchim as well as their integration in order to capitalize on the synergies of the two industrial platforms Borzești and Rm.Vâlcea.

The managerial, construction and the talent to manage the project teams define his entire activity.
