Installation of a Photovoltaic Power Plant

Chimcomplex is launching the project “Installation of a Photovoltaic Power Plant at Chimcomplex Borzești, Onești,” SMIS Code 328009, following the signing of financing contract no. 1241 dated 25.09.2025, concluded with the Ministry of Energy, acting as the national authority for the implementation and management of funds allocated to Romania through the Modernisation Fund.The project will be implemented starting from 25.09.2025 until the commissioning of the photovoltaic power plant, but no later than 31.12.2026.
The total value of the project amounts to 46,304,812.89 RON, of which 21,562,231.77 RON represents the non-reimbursable financing from the Modernisation Fund.

The investment will be located in 4 areas of the Chimcomplex S.A. Borzești – Onești chemical platform, as follows:

Zone 1: total area of 58,300 sqm
Zone 2: total area of 28,000 sqm
Zone 3: total area of 68,970 sqm
Zone 4: total area of 28,650 sqm
It involves the installation of a photovoltaic power plant that will provide approximately 9.71% of the total electricity consumption of the chemical platform.

The general objective of the project is to install a new capacity for the generation of electricity from renewable sources, intended for self-consumption, at the chemical complex owned by Chimcomplex S.A. Borzești, located in Onești Municipality, 3 Industriilor Street, Bacău County.

By installing the 14 MW photovoltaic power plant, Chimcomplex confirms its ongoing commitment to the development of the energy efficiency sector and to the reduction of CO2 emissions, in line with national, European, and international objectives.
