PETOL® polyols
Developed with proprietary technologies, in a comprehensive range of molecular weights and functionalities, the PETOL® family of polyols enables the synthesis of cellular and non-cellular polyurethanes with properties ranging from elastomeric to highly cross-linked rigid plastics. They are a key component in the production of high-quality polyurethane products, especially in the flexible slabstock (standard, soft and super soft, high resilience and viscoelastic) and molded (hot or cold), rigid and semi-rigid polyurethane foam segments. They are also used as raw materials to produce adhesives, coatings, sealants and elastomers.
Versatile and efficient, PETOL® polyols serve a variety of industries such as construction, paints, automotive, furniture, footwear, textiles, food, mining and quarrying, electrical household installations, as well as in the manufacture of wind turbine propellers.
PETOL® range of products
Spanning from standard polyols to customized formulations, PETOL® products provide high-performance characteristics – reactive polyols with up to 70% ethylene oxide content, low monol polyols, polymeric and polymeric reactive polyols, high molecular weight polyols, sucrose and amine-based polyols – and can be specially formulated to meet specific needs. Additionally, by producing environmentally friendly polyols, (vegetable oil-based polyols and polycarbonate polyols), Chimcomplex empowers its customers to effectively manage their sustainability goals.

Environmentally friendly solutions
Chimcomplex has been constantly investing in innovative green technology to produce environmentally friendly polyols, whether we are talking about polyols using bioresources such as vegetable oils, polyols synthesized by incorporating carbon dioxide into the chemical structure or recycled polyols. The company is actively working to minimize its carbon footprint, transforming its activities by circular economy principles.
On the platform in Rm. Vâlcea, Chimcomplex launched in 2023 the largest high-efficiency cogeneration plant built in Romania in the last 12 years, with an overall energy efficiency of over 90.5%, thus reducing CO₂ emissions by more than 80,000 tons annually. This facility enhances economic competitiveness in a dynamic market while ensuring energy security. Additionally, with the completion in 2023 of the first high efficiency trigeneration plant in the EU, Chimcomplex has further increased energy efficiency, reducing CO₂ emissions by an additional 1,500 tons per year.
