Implementation of a photovoltaic power plant at CHIMCOMPLEX SA Borzești, Râmnicu Vâlcea Branch
About the project
CHIMCOMPLEX S.A. BORZESTI launches the project “Photovoltaic power plant implementation at CHIMCOMPLEX S.A. Borzești Râmnicu Vâlcea Branch,” SMIS Code 328008, following the signing of financing contract no. 1532 dated April 21, 2026, concluded with the Ministry of Energy, acting as the national authority for the implementation and management of funds allocated to Romania through the Modernization Fund. The project will be implemented starting April 21, 2026, until the photovoltaic power plant becomes operational, namely December 31, 2026.
The total value of the project is 17,461,183.61 lei, of which 9,483,168.26 lei represents the non-reimbursable funding from the Modernization Fund.
The investment will be located in 5 areas of the Chimcomplex S.A. Borzești – Râmnicu Vâlcea Branch chemical platform, covering a total area of approximately 128,732 square meters, and involves the installation of a photovoltaic power plant that will provide approximately 1.58% of the chemical platform’s total electricity needs.
The general objective of the project is the installation of a new renewable energy generation capacity to meet the self-consumption needs of the chemical plant owned by Chimcomplex S.A. Borzești, located in Râmnicu Vâlcea, 1 Uzinei Street, Vâlcea County.

The main activities of the project are: A1. Project management, A2. Execution of project information and publicity activities, A3. Implementation of the core investment, and A4. Financial audit activities.
The installation of a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 4.60 MW and an energy storage capacity of 1 MWh demonstrates the ongoing commitment of Chimcomplex SA Borzești to the development of the energy efficiency sector, as well as to the reduction of CO₂ emissions, in line with national, European, and international objectives.
